• Scripts dated and sealed and stored in a secure off-site facility-electronic database of registrations kept by office

 

INFORMATION SERVICE

• General writing advice and information given to writers (and other filmmakers), is usually career advice – for example: information on funding providers, film development, networking, copyright, collaboration, educational institutions and producers

• Has often included film finance structuring, residual payment income streams, and co-production requirements

AUTHORSHIP FEES COLLECTION

• NZWG liaises with collection agencies on behalf of members, including Screenrights and AWGACS – the Australian Writers Guild Authorised Collecting Society

 

ADVOCACY SERVICE

• NZWG has a vital role in lobbying government organisations on behalf of screenwriters and filmmakers in general

• NZWG works to promotes policy, legislation, and legal and economic rights for the benefit of writers, including but not limited to the issues of copyright, moral rights, and status of the artist

• NZWG are always prepared to work with other organisations to provide solutions to whatever issues may arise
