This isn’t just another workshop, it’s a call to action.
Creative Power is travelling across Aotearoa to bring together writers, directors, editors, and performers (the creative backbone of our screen industry) to get informed, get ready, and get loud about what’s next under the Screen Industry Workers Act (SIWA). All welcome, including crew and technicians.
We’ve come this far together. Now it’s time to build momentum, show solidarity, and turn up the collective volume.
What we’ll cover
1. Real insight into our industry’s turning point.
Understand how SIWA came to be — and why what happens next will shape the future for every screen worker in Aotearoa.
2. Clarity on collective bargaining and your creative power.
Learn how working together gives us the leverage to set fair conditions, protect our rights, and raise standards across the industry.
3. A united voice in action.
Connect with other creatives who share your drive for change — writers, directors, editors, performers — and discover how our shared strength becomes real influence.
4. Space to kōrero, question, and contribute.
These sessions are open, energetic, and built for discussion. Every story and every question helps shape where we go next.
5. Energy, optimism, and community.
Stay for kai, drinks, and great conversation with people who get it — because no story, and no contract, gets written in isolation.
This is more than a workshop; it’s a chance to connect, learn, and be part of the movement.
The Creative Power workshop series is travelling across Aotearoa to bring together Writers, Directors, Editors and Performers to unpack the Screen Industry Workers Act (SIWA), share knowledge, and build stronger screen careers - together.
You won’t just sit and listen. These sessions are interactive, practical, and built around connection. With space to ask questions, share stories, and link up with fellow creatives over a drink.
You won’t want to miss this!
