Allan Baddock is a screenwriter, director, producer, and author who has been developing productions for international audiences for some 30 years. He is currently writing and developing a number of feature film, television and transmedia projects.(Details available on request: baddock@earthlight.co.nz).He has written and produced screen drama, animations, and children’s programmes, and frequently serves as executive producer, series editor, script doctor, story, and script editor for local and international television and film productions, and mentors new and emerging writers.Previous work includes more than 100 films for broadcasters in 130 countries, and numerous high profile, NZ social issue documentaries, including documentaries on revolutionary motorbike designer, John Britten, the 1990 Aramoana massacre, the controversial Bain family killings, numerous environmental issues, child cancer, autism, and deafness.He works routinely with production companies in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the USA and India, including many years as Story Consultant and Executive Producer for National Geographic and Channel News Asia.Allan is a two time President of the New Zealand Writer’s Guild and has served on the board of the national screenwriters association since 2007. He is also the chairperson of the Short Film Otago Trust, which funds and mentors emerging local filmmakers. He was co-organiser of the 2017 International Screenwriters Research Network conference, New Zealand’s first international conference dedicated to screenwriting, and founded and for six years curated the Dunedin Festival of Film and Television Craft (2006-2012), an annual weekend of workshops and seminars featuring the major national screen industry organisations and leading producers. As well as directing and writing extensively for television and film, he has appeared as on-screen series presenter and interviewer, and has written and edited magazines and books. [1]
