Online Workshop: Seed Grants - How to Apply
August 19, 2026
12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
Online Workshop
Join us for a practical one-hour Zoom workshop led by NZWG Executive Director Alice Shearman. This workshop is designed to help screenwriters prepare strong applications for Seed, NZWG’s script development grant programme funded by the New Zealand Film Commission. With the next round closing at 12 noon on Friday 4 September, this session will give writers timely guidance on how the programme works and what assessors are looking for.
The workshop will cover the two Seed streams—Seed for emerging writers and Seed Advanced for writers with broadcast credits—as well as the blind-read assessment criteria. Attendees will also receive practical tips for completing their application clearly, confidently, and effectively.
This session is ideal for writers planning to apply in the current round, as well as organisations supporting members to develop competitive Seed applications.
